About me

Hi, my name is Elio Zacuto — and this is my story.

I was born on December 27th, 2001 (I’ll let you do the math) in the magical city of Milan, Italy. My childhood was steeped in contrasts — my father, a passionate, outspoken Italian with a love for food and family, and my mother, a quiet and thoughtful Jewish-Polish woman who filled our home with stories about resilience and tradition. From an early age, I was surrounded by art, culture, and a sense of curiosity about the world.

Growing up in Milan was a dream — cobblestone streets, hidden cafés, and summers spent by the sea. But when I was 14, my family made a life-changing move to New York City.

The transition wasn’t easy. Overnight, I went from a small, romantic European city to a metropolis that never slept. It was overwhelming at first — the noise, the crowds, the pace of life. But New York had its own kind of magic, and in its chaos, I began to discover who I really was.

It was there, amidst the bright lights and late nights, that I fully embraced my sexuality. It wasn’t a single moment of revelation but rather a series of small, powerful realizations. Alongside that, I discovered another love: writing.

I found solace in words, pouring my feelings and ideas into journals, essays, and eventually, short stories. Writing became my escape and my connection to the world.

After finishing college, I landed an internship at an online lifestyle magazine. At first, it was nothing glamorous — coffee runs, editing product descriptions, and sitting quietly in meetings, trying to soak up everything like a sponge. But I worked hard, stayed curious, and slowly started to prove myself.

Soon, I moved up to a full-time writer position, focusing on lifestyle and beauty. I wrote about skincare routines, new restaurants, and the little joys of urban living. But my heart longed for something bigger — to see the world, to tell stories about people and places far beyond my own neighborhood.

This year, that dream came true. I was promoted to a role in the Travel & Leisure section of the magazine, which meant international assignments, breathtaking destinations, and the chance to combine my two passions: writing and exploration.
I packed my bags and set out to see the world — one city, one story, one heart-stopping adventure at a time.

To my surprise, my travel stories resonated with readers. My articles were shared, commented on, and even went a little viral, turning me into a small-scale online personality. Suddenly, strangers were following my journeys, rooting for me, and asking for more.

But here’s the thing: travel isn’t just about places.

It’s about people — the ones you meet along the way, the ones who leave a mark on your soul.
My life on the road wasn’t just about five-star hotels and scenic sunsets. It was about love stories. Some lasted only a night, others a week, and a few… well, a few left scars I’ll carry forever.

I opened this blog to share the parts of my life that don’t always make it into glossy magazine pages — the messy, vulnerable, intimate stories. The ones about encounters in dark alleys and sunlit beaches, about stolen kisses in crowded streets, and about fleeting romances that burn brightly before they fade away.

My philosophy about love is simple:
Love doesn’t have to last forever to matter.
It’s about that moment when someone steps into your life and changes you — even if it’s just for a day, an hour, or a single heartbeat. My heart has been broken more times than I can count, but I’ve learned that every romance, no matter how brief, is worth the risk.

So here I am, inviting you to follow my journey.

Join me as I chase sunsets, explore hidden corners of the world, and fall in love — again and again.
Some of these stories will make you laugh, some might make you blush, and others might just break your heart a little.

But that’s life.
And that’s love.

XOXO,
Elio
